With fall soon approaching, here are some fun ideas that can help you pass the time whether it be a rainy day, or you’re just looking for something to spruce up the fall atmosphere of your home.

Pumpkin Carving

PumpkinsWith Halloween just around the corner, pumpkins are going  to be in an abundance, so why not buy a couple to fill your front yard and porch and get creative with your carving.  Either use google to find stencil patterns that are to your liking or check out a website like Pumpkin Pile for free stencils.  You can buy pumpkin carving sets cheap at dollar stores, or for better ones you can find them at hobby stores   or online.


Pumpkin Pie

Following on the pumpkin idea, why not try your hand at pumpkin pie?  It’s fairly simple and very festive(not to mention it makes the house smell delicious).

Prep Time – 15 min   Cook Time – 55 min    Ready In – 

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Whisk pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, eggs, spices and salt in medium bowl until smooth. Pour into crust. Bake 15 minutes.
  2. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted 1 inch from crust comes out clean. Cool. Garnish as desired. Store leftovers covered in refrigerator.



Fall Craft Ideas

To Make the Ombre Pinecone all you is acrylic paint in 3 or 4 shades of a similar hue, and carefully paint the tips from light to dark.

You can use these as a centerpiece for thanksgiving, or place them as decorations throughout your home.

Similar to the ombre pinecone, add a splash of colour to your  home via painted  acorns.  It’s a little more time consuming  than the Ombre, but a creative and  fun way to decorate your  home for the fall, which you can store for next season.
